New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced in a press conference today that, despite numerous resignations by key city officials, he will not resign as mayor, even as charges are filed against him for corruption and illegal campaign solicitation. In addition to bribery and corruption going back years, charges in the indictment include illegal campaign donations, use of straw donors, and gifts from foreign corporations and the Turkish government.   Charges were filed by the US attorney for the Southern District of NY. Adams said he will remain in office to serve the people of New York City.

Immediately after Mayor Adams announced he will continue as mayor, at a joint press conference held by U.S. Attorney Damian Williams for the Southern District of NY, the NYC FBI Office, and the NYC Office of Investigation, Attorney Williams revealed a 50-page, 5-count indictment against the mayor. The U.S. attorney, along with his counterparts from the FBI and the NYC investigators, emphasized multi-jurisdictional coöperation in bringing the indictments.
